Nomia is a highly comfortable dining and conference chair.
It has an inviting, supportive seat that provides an embracing feeling.
The design speaks of comfort and softness in a new way. While we associate softness with relaxation, too much softness in the padding can result in a lack of ergonomic support. To highlight this excellent comfort, we used the universal principle of contrast: The metal brace that carries the backrest in one elegant, embracing line presses into the armrest cushion. In this detail, the two opposing material properties engage in a visual dialogue, highlighting each other.
Nomia is rooted in this interplay of properties: hard and soft, light and heavy, volume and delicacy.
No extra is added to the simplistic design. The delicate metal construction carries the seating shell formed by four cushions. Despite their comfort promising, hugging volume, they seem light, almost hovering.
